Building a Carer Friendly North Lincolnshire

In May 2023, North Lincolnshire Council's Carer Strategy Partners took a system-wide approach to improving the identification and recognition of Carers in North Lincolnshire. This was initiated through the “Carer Friendly North Lincolnshire” campaign which delivered a wide communications campaign to raise awareness of Carers.

Carer Break Service – A community and volunteer led approach

The carer break service in North Yorkshire was commissioned in October 2023 and is delivered by 3 lead voluntary organisations and 7 partner organisations. Rooted in a place-based approach this volunteer delivered model suits our local authority geography to support meeting the needs of carers in super rural, rural, and urban areas.

Unpaid Carers and Domestic Abuse Project

The Unpaid Carers and Domestic Abuse Project is a multi-agency project to improve support for carers in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who experience domestic abuse. The project has been informed by research and findings from a range of sources and information from local carer support organisations.

Carers Lounge

The Carers Lounge was established to support unpaid carers whilst the person they support is in hospital. It is an information and advice service for carers within St Mary’s Hospital, IW. It is a place where carers can come for emotional support as well as practical advice about their caring role and rights.

Carer Information Fairs

Carers don’t always know about their rights as carers and the range of support that exists. In response to this, Action for Carers Surrey have been running Carer Information Fairs for three years, held around Carers Rights Day each November.
