ADASS responds to proposed amendments on Sections 135/136 in the Mental Health Bill

We’ve signed a joint statement led by the Royal College of Psychiatrists opposing plans to transfer police powers of detention to medical practitioners under reforms of the Mental Health Bill in England and Wales.
These proposals risk causing significant harm and should not be pushed through Parliament without proper consideration.
