ADASS believes adult social care staff are highly skilled professionals whose work is vital to individuals, families, communities and the wider economy.

Despite this, the sector continues to face serious workforce challenges, including shortages, high turnover and pay levels that lag behind other sectors and the NHS.

ADASS strongly supports the Government’s ambition to introduce a Fair Pay Agreement as a key opportunity to deliver fairer pay, improve terms and conditions for frontline care workers, and strengthen recruitment and retention. This document sets out ADASS’s position on the Fair Pay Agreement and highlights the essential components needed to ensure the policy can be delivered effectively and achieve its intended impact.
