Independent Chair for the Leeds Safeguarding Adults Board

Salary details: Daily rate of £550 (plus expenses)

We are seeking a new independent chair to provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure Leeds Safeguarding Adults Board implements agreed multi-agency plans to drive forward the safeguarding agenda in Leeds. The successful candidate will have the confidence and credibility to hold the partnership to account for the safe delivery of services to citizens of Leeds while ensuring the board works collaboratively, inclusively and collectively.

Partners are seeking to recruit an individual with extensive operational and/or strategic expertise to lead our Board through its next phase of development, to ensure excellent safeguarding arrangements in Leeds. S/he will be a champion for safeguarding across all agencies and sectors in Leeds, and ensure that partners also act as champions.

This crucial appointment requires excellent leadership and decision-making skills and substantial experience within the safeguarding arena, probably gained at a senior level in the public sector. You will have experience and skills in chairing large, complex and multi-agency meetings at a senior strategic level, excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to enthuse and challenge partners in Leeds to ensure effective safeguarding arrangements are in place.
