Accelerate: Preparing leaders for change

We are delighted to be launching the second year of our Accelerate programme – supporting leaders of adult social care to manage complex change in a way which engages their organisation, is results driven and sustainable.

ADASS is committed to supporting our members with their professional development. Delivered in partnership with Newton, the Accelerate programme gives senior leaders the opportunity to rapidly develop their capability to deliver effective strategic and operational change.

Participants from the 2018 programme have benefitted from the learning that the programme has given them: “What the programme brings is the framework and methodology for the successful implementation of a change programme which can be applied to all programmes irrespective of what is changing”. They have also appreciated being able to spend time sharing ideas with their peers, and build their network “I have benefited greatly from sharing strategic thinking, ideas and lessons about what works well and less well with the other participants”.

Building on the success of 2018, we will also be focusing on some of the specific challenges leaders in adult social care are facing – how to make the best use of existing resources, the opportunities and risks of integration, change leadership and managing key stakeholders through change.

The programme, which involves four short residential modules over a 10 month period, starts in March 2019
