Rob Greig NDTi chief executive with Stephen Chandler, director of adult social care: Shropshire share evidence on delivering better outcomes for less resources.

This session will share evidence on how to achieve better outcomes for people from lower levels of expenditure, including:

  • Shropshire’s community led social work practice (People2people), which is evidencing better outcomes, happier staff and significant financial savings.
  • Evidence from new research into the cost effectiveness of employment supports for people with mental health problems and people with learning disabilities - showing how employment supports can save money for social care but that much current investment is being wasted on non-evidence based interventions.
  • Evidence from earlier work on the POPP initiative, demonstrating service-wide savings arising from preventative initiatives for older people.
