With the Care Act in force, we took a look at where authorities are up to with support for carers. We looked at authorities’ effective solutions and direction of travel – drawing on strategic regional planning across London.  Discussion included: practice sharing and key delivery priorities, assessments and their processes, and early signs around demand from carers and links with Children’s Services. We took a strategic look too over the next planning period. The session was supported by the newly published documents around caring: effective interventions, whole family working and “opportunities for councils” – a recently published Carers UK paper.
