ADASS responds to the Queen's Speech

14 October 2019

In response to today’s Queen’s Speech, Julie Ogley, President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) said:

"Any reform would need to work for everyone who requires social care and support, regardless of whether they are working age or an older person. Successive Governments have promised this, but ultimately it hasn't happened.  We urgently need the Government to bring forward proposals that enable people to live the lives they want to lead.

"While the Spending Round did address the of short-term funding issue, we still need reform to put social care back on a sustainable footing and ensure it is fit for the 21 Century."
