ADASS RESPONDS TO SLEEP-IN BACK PAY ANNOUNCEMENT
Responding to the new sleep-in shift pay compliance scheme announced by the Government, Margaret Willcox, President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), said:
“We welcome the consideration that government has given to this key issue and the recognition that the social care market is already in a fragile state and failing in parts of the country.
“Care workers deserve recognition and reward, but Government needs to fully fund historic and forward sleep-in costs, otherwise this issue will further undermine the sustainability of the care market and severely impact on the lives of thousands of older and disabled people.”
