ADASS regrets closure of SCA

Directors of adult social services have joined voices with individuals and organisations in regretting the closure of the Social Care Association which was announced recently.</P> <P align="justify>according" to Sarah Pickup, President of ADASS, "The SCA, and its forerunner, the Residential Care Association, has played a significant role over the past 60 years and more in promoting, defending, and applying all that is best about social work and social care in both the home care, and in care home, settings.

Chief social worker: 'coherent approach needed'

Directors of children and adult social services said that it would need real effort to ensure that the appointment of two chief social workers would not split the social work profession. The respective associations promised to use their influence with each of the new appointments to ensure a coherent approach to social work reform.
