Directors of Adult Social Services welcome the approach outlined in today’s Public Health White Paper to focusing on health outcomes for all, and improving at a faster rate improved outcomes for deprived groups and communities. According to President Richard Jones, “making this happen is a tough task, but one that ADASS and our local government colleagues are up for.”

ADASS welcomes positive sign off from CQC of on going improvement in adult social care

ADASS welcomes the final report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on the strong performance of local authorities commissioning and delivering social care services across the country. Five more councils have been judged as excellent making 37 in total. Most importantly the experience of citizens is improved as increasing numbers have more control over the services they themselves decide they need.
