National Social Services Conference 2004

THE MAJOR ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN SOCIAL CARE

20th to 22nd October 2004
Civic Centre, Newcastle

The theme of the 2004 conference, jointly organised by ADSS and LGA, was ‘Communities that Care, Services that Deliver’.  It gave an opportunity to explore how we can build sustainable communities that promote well being and are safe, caring and supportive.

The conference was held in Newcastle - a city well known for its vibrancy and sense of community where there are many examples which reflected our conference theme.

Conference Structure

Following on the successful format of previous years' conferences, the 2004 conference opened with registration at 9.00am on Wednesday 20 October and the event closed with lunch on Friday 22 October.

The programme consisted of a mix of keynote / ministerial addresses with a wide variety of participatory workshops and networking sessions.
